The Cooper Avenue store reintroduced Starbucks to downtown Aspen on a fast track schedule, transforming a narrow 1,200 sq ft footprint into a warm community hub that honors the town’s historic character. We revealed the original pitched ceiling and Douglas Fir beams, anchored the front of house with a curved white oak, black steel, and quartz bar, and layered durable, warm materials alongside a locally commissioned mural. The store opened on schedule, staffed locally, and exceeded early sales expectations, demonstrating a site‑responsive design that balances community fit with commercial performance.
